I do believe that Ms. Yuan tried her best to prepare and present the lesson. However, as I reminded you in class, while we invite students to take part in group activities, a careful design and clear instructions are needed. If we fail to plan, we plan to fail. Most teachers are afraid of group activities because of the anticipated chaos and noises. I think if we have a clear plan in mind and enforce it firmly, students can complete the task in time and feel more sense of achievement accordingly.

Group One would be appreciative of your feedback. Making the list must have helped you to look deeply into their teaching and also helped you to prepare for the future teaching. All of use benefit from the process. I think it’s the beauty of the course, right?

You are right about something: a teacher’s charisma matters in this field. As far as I see, teachers share something in common—most of them are easy-going, devoted, and affective. I see those qualities in you too. I think you’ll make good teachers in the future.

Kate, you raise a very good question here, "As a teacher, we have responsibility to decide which one is better for our students, but is there any principle for us to follow?" There is no definite answer to your question because it varies from situation to situation, so we have to be careful when preparing the lesson and design the activities. That’s why when it comes to teaching, subject knowledge is not the only important aspect. We need to know pedagogy well. It’s knowledge about how to teach. When dealing with students who have difficulties transferring their learning to their daily life or make learning more meaningful and personal, we teachers need to know what strategies to use so as to help them. In this modern age, technology can facilitate teaching and learning. It’s a tool and a chance to develop active and independent learning in students. There’s quite a lot to learn, isn’t it?

I also feel fortunate to have met a wonderful English teacher when the first time I began to learn English. I think maybe it is the reason why I am interested in English.

Yeah!
Help and trust of parents and administration is the key to make it differ from the old ways of learning.
I really agree with your point.
